Aces vs aces vs two others $10/$20 all-in preflop- get away from it?
I put 400 into Party last night, spun up to $2650 on $2/$4, tilted off $600, then moved up to $10/$20 and lost this monster. Biggest hand I've been in for a long time. My username there is vanHogspeuw.

Re: Aces vs aces vs two others $10/$20 all-in preflop- get away from it?
Eh, why?
With hindsight, I could have folded and taken the $240 hit when the other guy with aces has put in the third raise. I guess I was hoping everyone else would fold, and my aces would beat his aces. Oh for the flush on the river! That guy going in preflop with 2446 probably saw Brad Booth do the same thing on $200/$400 for a $250k pot a few months back. But he has to figure aces are out which cuts his straight outs, so he's basically playing for the two fours. [ QUOTE ] This hand makes me feel all warm inside [/ QUOTE ] |

AK and Ahxh adds enough % to your hand I'd be committed preflop. ALso, the apparent other pair of aces has a significantly large stack.

Re: Aces vs aces vs two others $10/$20 all-in preflop- get away from it?
Obviously I didn't fold the hand, I put my money in, and I lost it all. I really was expecting it would go heads up, or three way with the short-stack pushing. In that situation even if I lost the main pot I'd have a side pot with the other guy with aces, and I could hope mine would be stronger than his. (I'd liked to have flopped three hearts, or KK9, or even to have caught that goddamn Jack).
I do think when you're playing deep enough there should be situations when you can lay down aces in a multi-way pot once you realise another player has aces too. I had less than a buy-in for this game, so I can see it wasn't a big mistake to get it in pre-flop here. The mistake was for me to be on such a big table in the first place, quickly turning my spin-up into a spin-down!
