Default 30-60 live hand

30-60 live hand. 8 handed. Game is playing very aggro preflop and on the flop. Several players are pressuring the table to do rounds of live straddles, etc. Game is less aggro on later streets, but not passive.

My image is weak. I rarely play limit (strictly a NL player), and as a result, I am playing a little too passively.

Preflop

I get A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the straddle. MP Player three bets. He tends to play hands very hard. He certainly may be raising light, especially since I am on the straddle. BB (generally solid) four bets. I call, MP calls.

Flop

A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

BB bets. I call. MP calls.

Turn -- K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

BB checks. I bet. MP raises. BB folds. I call. [Who likes a three bet here?]

River -- Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I check. MP bets. I call.

Raise flop. Otherwise, fine, MP is repping a really big hand with a smoothcall on flop and then a turn raise.

I think it would have made the hand a lot easier if you raised the flop. The pot is pretty big, I don't think you have to get cute by just calling your 2 pair. Obviously turn and river are nightmare cards for you. But how about this holding for MP:

Jd Td, or Ad Td through Ad Qd. I don't dislike the turn 3bet at all. I'm more interested in hearing what people think we do when he makes it 4.

jam jam jam the flop.

I see no reason to 3bet the turn.

Definitely raise the flop. You're giving MP odds to come along very profitably with just about anything by just calling.
Are you sure it was capped preflop??? Usually the cap goes up a bet in straddled pots and if that's the case I'd be 3 betting the turn as played.

My recollection is that MP called the fourbet preflop rather than capping.

I picked up the nut draw on the turn. If I was four bet on the turn, I obviously would have called.

yes thank you for pointing that out. I completely missed the four flush. In which case I certainly like the raise that much more.
