400NL 6 Max AA Hand
2/4 6 Max
Villain is relatively unknown. Appears to be standard TAG about 20/10/3. Nothing exceptional. Folded to me on the button. I open for 12 with 2 black aces. The SB (villain calls) as does the shortstacked big blind. I have 500. Villain has 360 and the shorty has 70 or so behind. Flop (36) K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Checked to me and I check behind. (comments on checking here) Turn (36) 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain checks. Shorty bets 12. I call. Villain minraises. Shorty folds. I call. River (96) J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Villain bets 56. I fold. Comments on all streets appreciated. I'm most inetrested in the line to take on the flop here. I've spoken with a few good players about the hand who all think differently on the optimal line. Thanks. |

Bet flop. Call river as played.

Re: 400NL 6 Max AA Hand
If you take this line, call river
But bet flop seems like my standard line here and then look what happens |

Re: 400NL 6 Max AA Hand
Why are you so afraid to get some money in the middle here? Raise properly preflop, and bet the flop, then you can start thinking.
As played, I call river. If I am behind, maybe that will teach me to get some money in while still ahead. |

OP: Bet flop plz. As played, I'm definitely calling the river |

Re: 400NL 6 Max AA Hand
If 3x is his standard open raise, I don't see what the problem is. It's not like raising to 3.5x is getting a ton more money into the pot anyway... It's the flop where we need to be getting money into the pot. Preflop is the least of our worries I think

Re: 400NL 6 Max AA Hand
Ok let's say I called the river as my hand is now really underrepresented.
For all the people advocating a flop bet. Why do you want to do this? Is this for value or as a bluff? Does betting the flop with a one pair hand on a monotone board with no draw not bloat the pot and leave us in for trickier decisions on later streets? |
