Hiring day laborers...
Im moving and in an earlier thread I had asked about hiring movers...I did some research and it's expensive...I've pretty much used up all my 'moving credits' with my friends, so, its either, do it all myself, hire movers OR....hire day laborers?? Anyone ever hire these types of workers before? What have been your experiences? good/bad? Better to go with professional movers?

Re: Hiring day laborers...
didn't click the link, but bad idea to hire day laborers since they won't be insured and can sue you if they get hurt

pretty sure illegal aliens won't be suing anyone. my neighbors hired a couple - they were redic cheap.

They can do the job just fine. Just make sure they are instructed on things that need to be handled carefully or make sure they are wrapped up well.

Re: Hiring day laborers...
id personally go with movers just because its safer and your stuff is insured to an extent(i think). kind of in the same manner i wouldnt really trust my car to a friend of a friend of a friend. after getting fuct a time to many, im all about the availability of recourse. (sp?)
all about the day laborers for landscaping/construction/or labor intensive tasks. they work hard and the quality is good too. |

I've moved like 10 times, and movers have [censored] up my stuff way more than day laborers. Plus the day laborers I got were fast as hell and hustled while the movers getting paid by the hour had the "one guy carries five guys watch" policy. |
