Default Vegas Tournaments during WSOP (non-Rio)

I'm mostly curious about the $300-$2k range + if there will be any competing 'series' that will include non-holdem events (I seem to remember something like this at the Bellagio last year). Another "Wynn Classic" or Venetian deepstack series?

According to allvegaspoker the Wynn and Venetian have $330s-$550s most days, the Bellagio has the $540 or $1060. Will these buyins be higher, for example will the Bellagio tourney likely be a $1060 even during the week?.

I know about the decent Caesers 7pm tourney; any chance they run anything bigger than $220?

Any other rooms worth keeping an eye on?

Why dont you try calling the 800 numbers directly to each casino. Most all casinos have 800 numbers then ask for pokerroom.

I think the Palms ran a series concurrent with the Rio. If you didn't know, the Palms is a couple blocks down from the Rio.

well no [censored]. that doesn't make asking a forum full of vegas poker players a bad idea.

I will say that when i posted this i hadn't seen lasvegasmichael's tournaments thread. Maybe this would have been better there rather than as a separate thread.

Obviously I'm specifically curious about what will be different in june/july, a topic which might even be worthy of b&m forum discussion! People may know things like expected turnout or be able to relate relevant experiences from last year.

I'll get on that phone thing though. I had no idea Vegas poker rooms had phones.

Last year the Bellagio ran 1000s instead of 500s everyday during the WSOP. And they ran 2 1000s a day during the Bellagio Cup.

If Venetian keeps the $330 and $540 deep stack tourneys going through the WSOP they're gonna rock. Compared to anything the WSOP offers except large buy-in bracelet events the Venetian structure totally dominates. In the WSOP you can pay $2000 for T2000 chips with 60 minute rounds and a one in 1000 chance at a bracelet, or pay $550 for T10000 and 40 minute rounds at V. You can pay $200something for few chips and 20 minute rounds in the WSOP 2nd chance events, or $340 for T6000 and 40 minute rounds at V.

Or maybe with a little luck the WSOP folks will notice that their tourney offerings are weak and try to compete.

The worst result would be if V's room got so busy they stopped the daily tourneys and only spread cash games. I will be bummed if that happens.

These are the important differences.

Bellagio Cup goes for a portion of the WSOP time? Like two-three weeks?

Ya I'm pretty sure last year they overlapped a little bit. The Main Event of the Bellagio Cup might have been after the WSOP, but I definately remember busting from a post-ME $1500 at Rio and heading to the Bellagio for a $1k tourney. Also the 2nd chance tournies during the prelim events at the Rio play pretty bad and are in the $500 range.

Last year Orleans ran a festival concurrent with the series. They cut down the rake and made the structure phenomenal (most players said it was TOO good).

I've never cared for Orleans, but I have to give them credit. They ran one heck of a festival.
