How do I handle this situation?

I felt really sick today and just drove 5 hours to my school campus since spring break was over. I have an incredibly soar throat and it hurts to swallow. So I ask my resident advisor (RA) if she has any throat drops. There are 2 people in my RA's room from my floor that I dont really ever talk to or know that well. I am waiting outside and heres the conversation I hear while waiting outside the door...

Female: What are you doing?
RA:"I am looking for cough drops since a resident is sick, do guys have any?"
Female: "Whos sick"
RA: "James"
Male: "Yeah, I have some ludens but I am not giving them to James"
RA (comes out of her room): "Sorry James, we dont have any..but have a good night"

wtfff, I dont even know the kid on my floor and he is being an ass. I kind of walked back to my room w/ hurt feelings, but am I a complete loser for not doing something here.. ? Whats my line bbv? I think I can take him in a fight..

I tend to find that the people who kick it with RA's tend to be total douchebags/losers anyway, so I wouldnt sweat it too much.
