3 handed. mjkidd raises with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] on the button sb folds, BB calls. Flop (4 sb): 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] BB checks, mjkidd bets, BB raises, mjkidd calls Turn (4 BB): K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] BB bets, mjkidd raises, BB calls River (8 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] BB bets, mjkidd... comments on all streets welcome. |

I can't play poker, but if I could, I would wonder what your turn raise was about. Is it a bluff raise or a value raise? It seems to me that your hand is too good to bluff raise with, but not good enough to value raise.

I don't really like waiting till the turn to raise here, but I will do it occasionally to mix it up (usually 3bet flop). Can't fold the river. You're turn raise looks like a bluff/free SD play with UI paint often, so his redonk could easily be a worse made hand, or a spade bluff.

If you said who BB was I could probably be more specific but I think this is a fold, you are going to see the obvious trips or an 8 snuffing out a free SD raise too often here I think. I like the turn play and would value bet a brick river had he checked by the way. I sometimes reraise this flop but it mostly depends who I'm against.

If you called on the river I think you played this hand fine. I like the turn raise after the K falls because the flop is such that both naked bluffs and semi-bluffs with drawing hands are likely holdings for your opponent. By raising the turn you can make bluffs incorrectly fold and you can charge draws the maximum price. On the river there's enough of a chance that your opponent is bluffing with a busted draw or a worse 5 that a call is justified.
Just my opinion... |

god just call down dont bloat the pot with mediocre hands against ppl who can spew bets into the pot [/ QUOTE ] This guy is check-raising his flush and straight draws 100 percent of the time and betting the turn with them 100 percent of the time. That's my main motivation for raising the turn. And, yes, it was a free SD play; DD might be right in saying that there is value in a river bet, but it's a very thin value bet that I'm more than happy to pass on. |
