JJ - Overpair - river question
Hey, didnt have any information about the opponent.
What's your move now? Should I bet or just check behind? Do you think there is a possibility to get value of a "valuebet" with that board and especially that river at all? If you think there is a chance to get value out of a "valuebet" how much do I have to bet then? Re: JJ - Overpair - river question
No way Im betting this. Only possible hand you could get value from would be a TdXd, missed diamond draw/top pair. I just check behind. Top pair on the flop just hit trips, turn completed a straight draw...not to mention the flop is a possible straight as well.

Re: JJ - Overpair - river question
i check behind as well. No value in a bet on the river.
(p.s.: sometimes you have to value-bet *very* thin in order to balance for a wider range of bluffs in those spots in later hands) |

Re: JJ - Overpair - river question
I check behind. Looks to me like he's on a busted draw or somethign else that won't call the river. I'd take a free showdown and I can't see him calling again with anything that you beat.
Please post your hand on 2+2 instead of linking to it. It makes it easier to read, and you are likely to get more replies as well. |

Re: JJ - Overpair - river question
[ QUOTE ]
bet river [/ QUOTE ] Care to elaborate? If he bet out on the flop with a FD, he will not call you. If he bet out on the flop with a 5 (SD), he will not call you. If he bet out on the flop with a 4 or 6, he will rarely call you. If he bet out on the flop with a 7, you will lose. If he flopped a straight or set or 2 pair, you will lose. There's more that he might hold, but for the most part, there's not much value here. |
