Default Fat stack, middle pocket pair, late stage

20/180. No reads on raiser. I don't think I've done anything at this table.

In a more general sense, what sort of things are we doing with our stack with 26 left?

I think I folded. I was terribly card dead the whole way and was using my stack rather than my cards to win chips. When I switched to this table, I was no longer sure how to use it because most of my FE moves would be against players who were priced in. If OR was a little deeper, I'd like a push a lot more.

I'd fold too. Not because of the original raiser, but because of my position. Pushing is not an option for me. There are too many player left behind me. Re-raising would also make it too expensive. I want to call for set value, but usually in these late stages a raise can trigger all-ins and I'm not prepared to face off with 2 players with medium pair.

Would this be whimpy?

whimpy i dont know but i belive its wrong in several ways.

at this stage pp have "no" set value since stacks are too short for having the proper odds for it. further an push or raise here will most often shutdown the rest of the table unless they find a monster.

my only concern here is utg+1 bet/call, bet/fold ranges and i fold because i got no info on it. And cause a default utg+1 range is probably not very kind too my hand

agree.

i donīt think we see shortstacks openraise then fold enough from utg+1. and as jarid said even a loose range from utg+1 is not very good for us, although then villain might fold part of it.

one thought though, if we were in bb and this same action before us? or if villain pushes?

When we are at these shortstack tables i resort back to finding good callranges for their inevitables pushes/betcalls and if they let me, i steal cheaply.
this said i know ive isopushed profitably in similar situations with 88 but then against more desperate(shorter) villains and with more information due to betsize etc. so i guess its not an obvious fold

Am I being a nit in thinking this is a fold especially given UTG+1's stack?
