Why the Lounge is Special.........
Hello All......
I got a pm today from one of our fellow lounge posters (identity withheld) who PM’d me to ask my opinion as to what we could do to get more people to read and post in the lounge. They were wondering if the Lounge would be more interesting if we had more controversial topics. As I was at work today when I read the PM, I promised that I would address their question in public with the rest of the “Loungers” and see how you all feel about it. I will throw my 2 cents in here.... The Lounge is special, IMO. Its’ focus is quality; not quantity. Given that the quality of posts here is significantly above most of the rest of 2+2, it is no wonder then that any poster would want more of it. The strength of the lounge is its’ diversity and humanity. I could easily be called an elitist for having this POV......so be it. However, it is legitimate for them ask whether or not we should be getting into more “controversial” subject matter. What thinkest thou?

I think it's just fine the way it is. It's for thoughtful discussion and interesting, more mature topics. That automatically means less traffic!
In relation to other forums, The Lounge only has one or two less active topics going than the supposedly "superior" ElD forum. So I don't see what all the hub-bub is about. I think this forum is just fine.

Yeah but... it gets lonely in here at night. No one posting but me (listening to my annoying owl outside, all by my lonesome) you know how lonely that is? IT'S ENOUGH TO DRIVE A GIRL INSANE!! And OOT has lost its endearing charm to me. It would be cool if we could step up the traffic in this forum a tiny little bit so someone could shoot the [censored] with me.
