Default Pot control or Go for the Gold?

Villain is very LAG and we had been tangling a lot in the last hour (usually involving me 3-betting him in position). His stats are 37/24 over 2K hands. Should I check behind and keep the pot manageable or keep firing?

Check, if you fire here I think all hands that beat you are coming along and all the hands that don't (other than AQ/AJ) you probably lose(fold). If you check here, he might fire other aces or possibly pay off value bets on the river with A10/AJ.

A pot control check is good but I would make it on the dry flop rather than the turn.

Yah just check. If you get a river bet paid, you'll be pulling well over 50BB off this guy with TP2K, which to me is plenty gold enough for this type of holding.
