Reasonable Rake/Barcelona Casino
I have been playing a 1-2 Self dealt game, with 6 pounds per hour. About 25 hands an hour. Means 24 pounds per 100 hands, or PT 12bb/100. I was told this is cheap for live play, other places being 10% up to 4$ on a 1-2 game. Does this work out to more than the self dealt game? And I was actually wondering if the self dealt game is actually a good "price" for a live game?
On an unconnected has anyone got a good experience at the Barcelona casino? I'm moving there tommorow and don't know much about it. Thanx! |

Re: Reasonable Rake/Barcelona Casino
Is this No Limit? Foxwoods charges $10 per hour for $1/$2 blinds, so you're doing better than that. If you assume the maximum of $4 is taken from raked pots, then 25 hands per hour * $4 = $100 per hour. Divide by 10 people and get $10 per hour. So you're doing better than that also with your 6 units per hour rake.
I don't know how to evaluate the raked vs. time charge games though. I've seen posts on this board about how the style of play makes a difference in raked games. I.e., in a raked game, if you play very tight, and only win big pots where the rake is maxed out, you might pay less rake than someone that won lots of little pots that were all raked 10%... |

Re: Reasonable Rake/Barcelona Casino
My only experience with Barcelona Casino is from the EPT events the last 2 years, games start at 5/10 PL/NL rake 10% capped at €35. During the EPT there is a waive on entry fee for poker players but year round there is a daily charge of €3 or so.

Re: Reasonable Rake/Barcelona Casino
Ya with the rake style I have though about that. Basically the hourly charge is better for winners. As winners and losers will pay the rake, instead of in a % situation, where the bigger the winner the bigger the rake taken from that person in particular. Ya it's no-limit and 9 person tables.

Re: Reasonable Rake/Barcelona Casino
The rakes and time charges in continental Europe are way higher than in North America or the British Isles.
