Fold to the 3bet preflop. As played check the flop.

Fold to the 3bet preflop.

Even with those insane stats from SB? Pretty sure we're stacking someone if we hit, and if not, we might even be ahead.

Yes because you are stuck between him and the button (who is an unknown). The button's min raise looks more like AA or KK. Also the SB may raise a lot first to raise but how many times does he three bet? (this is how players like this get paid off when they DO have a hand) Third you pretty much have to play this for set value and you aren't getting that after the 3-bet.

Yeah, man, you're squeezed. Fold pre; those JJ look good but even if you are sure Button just cold-calls you barely get set odds. And you're OOP against the button, his range is ahead against you and SBs may be as well.

Your J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] may not make the top flush here in this spot and SB may be trapping trying to checkraise - would he usually lead in this spot?

I check here and reevaluate if flop gets checked through and SB checks turn (unlikely).

*Grunch*

The real problem in this hand pre-flop is not SB, who I don't mind playing against, but the button who is an unknown. It's very close, but I think I let this go because your calling but not closing the action and you will be out of position the rest of the hand against him. Your making the call for set value and your not making a whole lot when you do hit a set and manage to stack SB even though there is some dead money in the pot if you consider the 5/10 rule. This is looking at this hand in the long run if you play it the same way every time.

As played, I check fold that flop.
