200NL - NF-combo draw facing flop donk overbet
Villain is unknown but seems he's a donk preflop (limping and coldcalling). Just fold it? I was kinda pissed to see him lead for so much.
Party Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $1/$2 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $59 Hero: $197 CO: $621.03 Button: $252.25 SB: $151.85 BB: $304.41 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG+1 with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $8</font>, 2 folds, SB calls, BB calls. I think folding is out of the question...I would probably just shove it in, If he has a set where not far behind...also its definitly possible this guy has Overpair, which we beat.

Shove baby. There is no way I'm folding. Calling here and hitting only will kill our action.

Yep, I pushed. Thanks guys. Looking back on it I can see that I played it fine.
Anyways, the reason I posted this is because after I pushed, a 22/15 regular behind me called AI, as did the donk. The TAG showed up with AA and then they both made fun of me for pushing "with only a flush draw". This kinda put me on thinking-tilt but in hindsight, it's pretty funny considering they both played their hands pretty bad. |

Re: 200NL - NF-combo draw facing flop donk overbet
I've noticed a lot of TAGs playing AA OOP like this. A lot of them even "slowplay" it all the way to the river, regardless of board texture, and stack off on the river or c/r all-in when the board is four to a straight or flush that they don't have.

Re: 200NL - NF-combo draw facing flop donk overbet
You're a 2:1 dog to a set, barely better than 3:2 under to bottom two, 3:2 under to the straight. You're flipping even with 89. Pretty much the only sort of hand you're a favorite against that you might get called against is a bare KJ, and you're only a 55% favorite there.
I don't think you have much fold equity against a bad player way overbetting the pot there and his range goes from very close to pretty well ahead. Folding's not much fun, but it's the move. |
