Thinking of starting a blog...
Not really sure where to post this, but I was wondering what the best way to go about starting a blog would be.

Re: Thinking of starting a blog...
Go to blogger.com and signup.
You just started your first blog. Blog about anything that interests you. For the first couple of weeks you should be making at least a 200 word entry daily if possible. If you find you can continue the blogging on a daily basis then look into hosting it on your own domain and monitizing it. |

Re: Thinking of starting a blog...
As per JoshK's response, if you end up wanting your own domain name after already putting a bunch of posts into Blogger, Blogger has a means of FTPing your blog pages onto your own web hosting space.

You can also use RSS feeds from your site to dump it into a wordpress blog in the future

Re: Thinking of starting a blog...
Does the site give information on how many views you get, etc.? I've heard some things about pay-per-click advertising where sites with heavy traffic like certain blogs can generate money or something, though to be honest I'm not exactly knowledgable on this whole subject. My point is, I'd really only want to do this if it actually got read.

Re: Thinking of starting a blog...
If you put out decent content and advertise it a little bit, it will get read. You can use google analytics to track traffic, and you can use adsense, among other things, to generate some income.
