Luxor $1/1/2 $50 NL Buy in?!?!
What horse doodoo is this!? I was in Vegas last week and was amazed at this structure. Triple blinds, 1/1/2 @ just a $50 buy in? That's the worst I've seen @ any casino. You're basically pot committed with any PFR.

Anybody gotta link? Yeah when I sat down this dude to my right had a $500 stack. I asked him how long he had been playing and he said bout an hour. He just waited for good cards and pushed. Eventually he became the bully at the table. lol i played for like 15 min then i couldn't stand it anymore. Reloading when my stack dwindled to $45/$46 was too much of a hassle for me. I rarely play live so this structure just amazed me! Edited: Sweet thanks LVMichael! |

Re: Luxor $1/1/2 $50 NL Buy in?!?!
I've seen multiple $400+ stacks in that game, but it took a fair amount of retardation for them to get that deep. The only reason to play it is if you're breaking someone in to live NLHE and they're a little timid. It's also good practice for early-stage shortstack tournament play.

If course its bad for a good postflop player. Oh well, they did not build pokerrooms for the 2+2 players. If you want to beat this game, you gotta gamble it up with your initial buy in and get to 150 or higher. Then you will have a huge advantage over the other newbies at the table. |

Re: Luxor $1/1/2 $50 NL Buy in?!?!
Luxor is the worst NL game in the city. At least they use red checks.
Note that as soon as you get to $49, you can buy another $50 (essentially, sit down and throw the dealer a dollar, and you can rebuy), so it is really a $99 max game. |
