$10 180 final table hand

Villain has been raising a lot of pots from this spot. I have been advised that this is maybe a push preflop but I think this is quite risky as I have people with fewer chips and am not short yet. My idea was to bet most flops and hope he folds. As played I feel I have to get the money in with overcard and flush draw. Thoughts?

SB cheks, Hero bets 8000, SB bets 20000, Hero?

if he raises a lot of pots shove PF, worrying about shorter stacks busting first means you will get more 4-6 instead of top 3s where all the money is. SB can not call you that light because its for more than half his stack and by calling and losing he than becomes a middle stack with a bigstack on his left.

Thanks. I guess I should have shoved but I thought he would be calling fairly light as I had shoved 84o blind on blind when 16 were left and beat AJo.

I shoved here and sickeningly villain had 52. Turn 2 and river 2.

I don't want to get called by Ace-x and be behind for all my chips. I'm looking for the best way to take the pot without showdown.

If you don't want to resteal 'for fear of being called by Ax' you need to rethink your approach. Also, being called light is not the same as being called by Ax.

I would push preflop, but flat calling is OK too.

I would play for a checkraise on the flop.

As played, of course get your money in.

Incidently, you were 34% on the flop against 2-pair.

Check raising would be dandy if he acted first.

I think the overall stack sizes make it tricky but the push pre flop is probably the best option. I would just find it easier to do this if I had say 30k. I think I did quite well to get this far anyway as I put the Hand History on pokerxfactor and my overall PUFF was 2.
