Re: Top Two 1/2 Stars
Most of the time call against unknown. Folding is not bad either. Reads and your view are essential here. There are not many sensible hands that opponent could have that beat you. Slow players might have set of kings here and cautious players might have set of fives that improved to straight on river.

Reads would help, but I think this looks like a call. I imagine you chopping here a lot.

Re: Top Two 1/2 Stars
You played it perfectly, in my opinion. Unlike the other posters, i can basically never see this opponent making this bet with less than the same hand you have.
I feel like one of the best parts of my game is getting loose bets on the river, identifying them, and calling for value. I've literally never had a hand play out like this where I called and won. You've got decent odds, but I think you are up against 55, set that hit st8, or AA2x here about 85% of the time. The other 15% is TTP or KK played horribly. My .02. |

Re: Top Two 1/2 Stars
I lean toward a call, expecting AQJx. I can only hope it's not AQJ2. Reads would really help here.

I called and was shown Kh 7h 5d 5c.
Ugh, I guess he had a king blocker...so maybe that's why he didn't fold the 5s? I was forced to a very difficult decision and did not know how to react. So I'm trying to analyze if I could have played the hand differently to avoid that. Maybe flop raise too aggro vs someone betting into the whole field? |

Re: Results
Just file it away and don't call next time. I'd have done the same without any reads.

[/ QUOTE ] I should have answered earlier, but I was going to say that people at 1-2 have pocket 5's or a back-door straight here like 100% of the time. Then at 2-4 it's an auto-call because it's almost always a bluff. And at 5-10 you'll have a hard decision. |
