Greatest Scorsese Movie of All Time - First Round
In light of the Academy finally giving Marty some love I thought it fitting to let the collective genius of OOT select which of his many movies is the greatest. We're looking at full-length features, leaving out various documentaries, TV episodes etc. As usual they are seeded based on IMDB user ratings.
In order to make this work with the single-elimination format I have intentionally left out a few movies that received the lowest IMDB scores. Fans of Boxcar Bertha and Bringing out the Dead might be upset, most of you probably won't care much. Time for Round One to begin! |

Welcome back, Swede.
I think Goodfellas wins in a tight race. |

Re: Greatest Scorsese Movie of All Time - First Round
Unfortunate first round matchup...The Color Of Money was actually a pretty good flick (despite Tom Cruise).

Re: Greatest Scorsese Movie of All Time - First Round
"The Color Of Money" is probably one of my twenty favorite films of all-time. But "Goodfellas" is just so, so much better. Easy call.

[/ QUOTE ] Oh, it's an easy call there, definitely...just sayin' that The Color of Money was put in an unfortunate bracket. Kinda like Prarie View A&M taking on Duke. The Color of Money could have won a first round against several of the other first round leaders, methinks... |

GODDAMMIT HYACHAHCHA ARGH AIH(P*WQ%&*(@^%(&*@Q^$(*&Q@&$%)Q
My favorite film of his isn't even on here. WTF. HORRIBLE POLL. (Film is "Life Lessons." Best 50 minutes he ever directed). Closely followed by Taxi Driver and King of Comedy. I don't care if the poll is "full-length features." No "best Scorsese movie" can be complete without Life Lessons. Period. |

Joker:
Sorry to piss you off so badly. In my defense, "Life Lessons" isn't even listed on IMDB (not to say IMDB is the ultimate authority on this type of stuff). On an unrelated note - Scorsese directed Michael Jackson's music video 'Bad'. Swede |

[/ QUOTE ] One might argue this is a strong sign Scorsese is one of the finest directors of all time; as his 16th highest rated movie (according to IMDB morons, but anyway) is still a very good movie. Bottomline - Marty Rocks. Swede |
