Clearly a solid brag now that she's on the Pill. Dear god, i had no clue what i was missing.
variance: not quite sure how comfortable i am w/ finishing inside her (despite it being awwwwwwwwwwwesome). So far, we've been relatively prudent; e.g. only finished inside near the end of her cycle (when pregnancy is v unlikely). also tried to be on the responsible side by having a frank 'what if...' conversation, in which we both agreed that we were on the same page about ending a pregnancy if it should happen accidentally. Beyond that, not much more i can do other than Enjoy!...still, I'm a little nervous now that we're doing it at all times of the month...we don't use any other forms of protection (both got tested for everything / clean); she tells me she's v good about taking Pill at same time of day, every day. I'm still a Pill noob, though; should i feel comfortable in its efficacy? It's apparently 97 - 99% effective for couples who use it over the course of 1 year. But FUUUUUUUUUUU**K, those few percentage points are scary. |

Right; the wording of it is that 1 to 3% of couples who rely on it exclusively for birth control will have an accidental pregnancy over the course of 1 year of use.

1 to 3% of couples [/ QUOTE ] Lol, which one is it now, 1% or 3%? I suppose it's the 99% confidence interval for their estimate of frequency, but still, it sounds so stupid. |

As long as she doesn't miss a day the chance of her getting preggo isn't enough for you to worry about.

And I suspect that those 1-3% that get preggers probably didn't follow the instructions very well (i.e. missing days or not taking it at about the same time each day). |

according to the FDA, 1-3% is with perfect usage. they quote another figure with non-perfect usage which is quite a bit bigger. i dont have the citation on hand but it shouldnt be hard to find with google.

I believe the male pill when it comes out will be most effective of all. [/ QUOTE ] Wonder how many women would rely on a guy taking the pill. My friend is a doctor. He had a couple visit him once and she was preggy. My friend was surprised since he had prescribed her the pill. He asked them what happened. "Oh," she said "they made me sick so he took them instead" |
