Default Vegas, looking for good blackjack

I have been to Vegas numerous times, however next weekend I will be going for the first time since learning how to count.

Which casinos have the best rules for BJ? I'll be staying at the Mirage, o and im looking for $5 mins. Also 2,4, or 6 decks would be nice. I hate 8 decks.

www.cheapovegas.com will have most of the info you look for. They rate the games by rules and limits.
Also www.bj21.com is a great resource. (Wong's site)

As for the good games...Station casinos have the best double deck games now and sometimes (grave or dead afternoons) you can find nickle/dime games.

South Point, Orleans, Gold Coast all have nicke/dime double deck no peak game and some nickle 6-deck shoe games.

IP has some nickle shoe games, not sure if it's 6 or 8 deck.

Most of the smaller strip casinos will have nickle/dime shoe games on grave. Hardly any have 2 deck games under 25 ever nowadays. No 4 deck games available.

Forget the Plaza, which used to have the best DD game in town, they are all now CSM games.

Golden Nugget has a decent (average rules) DD game and can be found at a dime on most weekdays. 6 deck shoe games usually run 10/15 min as well.

Forget most of the big places like V, Bellagio, Mirage, MGM, Caesars, ect.. as most of the BJ games are 25/min every afternoon/evening and are 8 decks or CSM's.

Edit to add:
Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions as well, will do my best to answer them.

Actually, if you don't mind a $25 minimum, the Wynn's not too bad. The dealer stays on soft 17 and they give surprisingly good penetration. The shoes are 6 decks, and they've got double deck games too.

Everywhere I've been on the Strip, they are paying 6 to 5 on blackjacks. Does any casino still pay 3 to 2?

I haven't paid that much attention, but I thought the only ones that paid 6 to 5 were single decks.

The Plaza had non-CSM DD in December. Either that, or I was REALLY drunk.

Downtown is your best bet if you want to play SD or DD. Good SD action at the 4 Queens and El Cortez. Games are sweaty, which is the norm for SD. Just keep your session to 45 minutes or less and hit them on multiple shifts, standard stuff.

If you can make the trip in day time, then head a couple blocks down from El Cortez to the Western. You will be a high roller at $5 a hand, and if you don't look like / smell like a homeless person, you will stand out. The SD game there is really good for a low roller.

Second the recommendation on BJ21.com. Great resource for BJ play.

No, you are correct. Lots of $5 minimum DD at the Plaza. DOA, DAS, RSA, must hit 17. I just played it on the 17th and 18th. Easy to court, appx 70% pen with a cut card & mini shoe.

Wongboy must have a hearty constitution. I'm afraid I'm goign to catch something if I go to the Western.

BTW, the only decent DD BJ I found on the strip is at Slot's O' Fun which is hella far from Mirage, and Barbary Coast, which isn't all that great but has $5 and $10 minimum DD BJ with marginal rules and 3:2 pay. Everywhere else in that area of the strip from Wynn to MGM either has 6:5 pay BJ single deck, which you should never play, or they have very high limits(like $50+) for a decent DD game.

When I was in Vegas the MGM had 6 deck, $10 minimum, S17. The penetration could be as good as 4 1/2 decks, but I remember at least 1 dealer who shuffled earlier.

BJ at IP now sucks. Harrahs took over and removed the decent DD BJ that had been there. Now its all single deck 6:5 pay, and six deck shoes with crappy Harrahs rules.

Also ignore my suggestion about Barbary Coast. McHarrahs took them over too and it is now supposed to be "Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon".

Casino Royale is across the street from Mirage. I do not know their rules, but they do have low limit BJ. If you have a car, make the trip downtown. If you don't, a cab ride is prohibitively expensive($20-30), so take a quick cab trip down to Slots A Fun. But if they see that you are counting, they will go from 75% pen down to like two hands off a DD heads up.
