Your childhood sports idol

When we were all kids, most of us had a sports figure that we looked up to or even idolized. Even if they weren't the greatest player on the team or greatest in their sport, we still admired them.

Who was that player for you guys?

For me, it was definitely Mark Messier. Since the strike, I'm no longer a hockey fan. But I was a rabid New York Rangers fan when I was a child up until I was around 18 and he was the heart of the team.
