Re: Monitor for 9 tabling
This is a good monitor for 9-tables as long as you have decent eyes and you are using resizable tables at Pokerstars (or Fulltilt soon). 1600x1200 resolution is what you need.

Re: Monitor for 9 tabling
You don't need a high-end card for the Dell 3007 any more. My 7800 GTX (that I bought when the 30" monitor came out) died, and I replaced it recently with the NVidia 7900 GS. Total cost was under $200 US for the card.
Make sure you get a model with dual-DVI inputs, and it will handle it and most other applications quite nicely. No problems encountered in the first 3 weeks of use. I'm quite confident all of the AMD/ATI graphics cards also handle 2560x1600@60 Hz. (You don't need one that can run the monitor at 85Hz.) |

Re: Monitor for 9 tabling
with resolution, are the higher the numbers the better when it shows them on a site. Like is 1650X1050 better than 1600x1200 or 1440x900? can someone please explain.

Re: Monitor for 9 tabling
it's the width by the height.
A regular table without shrinking it is 800x600. So to fit 4 regular size table with no overlap you need 1600 wide and 1200 high. 1650x1050 means that it is not high enough to fit 2 tables on top of each without overlap. Things change if you are using re-sizeable tables of course. But the default table on most sites is 800x600. My laptop monitor is 1900x1200. So I can fit 4 regular size tables on it with no overlap and also have extra room off to the side. Most serious multi-tablers want at least 1600x1200 unless they're okay with re-sizing the tables. |
