Tell me about Atlantic City
I'm moving to New Jersey fairly shortly and I'll be within driving distance to Atlantic City. I did a quick search on this forum but couldnt find much information as far as the games go. How many major casinos are there? How many offer NL200 games? Where are the best places to play? How do the player compare to the Vegas ones?
Thanks, N |

Re: Tell me about Atlantic City
I love how Wikipedia has a link to a 2+2 post, ha.
I'd prefer to hear from peope that have been there and have experience at the NL200 games and cheaper tournaments. The Wikipedia article is ambiguous. |

Re: Tell me about Atlantic City
300$ 1/2 at every casino with a poker room at all hours is the best live game around.

Re: Tell me about Atlantic City
I was at the Borgata last month and the 1/2NL game was definitely juicy. If you get dealt good cards... you will do very well.
I wouldn't even consider myself a *good* player, and I managed to leave there up two buyin's ($400 total for me) after seven hours. |

Re: Tell me about Atlantic City
Only down side is the poker room is more crowded than the clubs on Sat. nights...lol
OP....1/2NL is spread in just about every casino in AC now. If you are looking for the hip place to be, Borgata is really the only choice. If you are a dirty disgusting smoker (like me) you will want to visit Ballys, the only smoking poker room in AC (just not in seat 1 or 10). The Tropicana has the most popular pink chip game in town, although I've never played it. Just about every joint will rate you, but to be honest there's not enough incentive to go anywhere in particular IMO. |

I love how Wikipedia has a link to a 2+2 post, ha. [/ QUOTE ] PokerWiki, not the actual Wikipedia. Sadly Wikipedia itself is quite hostile to our efforts and particularly hostile to Two Plus Two. So whereas we had been trying to investigate opportunities for collaboration on the poker pages, the self-appointed Wikipedia police became so arduous to deal with that I just decided screw it. Shouldn't be that way in an open community-run project but with WP it is. Anyway, I've already written up my personal experiences in AC so to speak. You're welcome to access them from the wiki, munged with others', or not. |

and cheaper tournaments [/ QUOTE ] Borgata has the best structured and most well run tournaments in AC at all limits. Their sit-n-go's run often and are also decent for the money. They move quickly, but not as bad as other places. You may get lucky at other places experimenting with a new structure that may be OK. People seem to like HOB's no-ante tourneys. I haven't played there, but Harrah's (HOB's parent) (is now running "10,000 chip, no ante" $100 buy in tourneys. However, you start at 100/200 and get to 500/100 in an hour. Not sure if HOB is still a better structure, but as for Harrah's, you may as well play a slot machine. Taj is also a crapshoot with their tourneys. |

Re: Tell me about Atlantic City
yea these games are awesome, I generally leave with over 1000 after buying in 200-300 and play 5 hour sessions. if you cant beat these games you should not be playing poker. Period. I am so tempted to drop out of school since I am positive I can make 5 grand a week in just this game and I know I could move up to higher stakes. Must stay disciplined and get my degree first and stick to lots of online.
