Hi Guys,
I'm a new poster on this forum but reading it for quite some time. Before I ask my question I used the search function but didn't come across any info useful for me. I'm from Belgium and travelling to NY in July for 3 weeks for work. As I am an avid poker player (1/2 2/4 NL) I'd like to play some poker at a casino in NY, since it is prohibited here in Belgium. Could some of you guys share me some good adresses or some tips to help me find what I'm looking for? I don't even know if it is possible to play at that low stakes in a casino , so really any information is much appreciated. Many thanks in advance. Cheers, Cana |

Conn. is also an answer. The only Casino(s) in NY are in NY state. Turning Stone is near Syracuse. Foxwoods, the worlds largest casino (or atleast was) is in Conn. Moh. Sun is also in Conn.

[/ QUOTE ] There are other legal casinos in NY State located at race tracks (upstate, not NYC or LI), but they do not permit poker or table games by state regulation. I knew that former Governor Patacki was trying to open 5 casinos in the Hudson valley region but was blocked by a change in the way states can form a compact with Indian nations. They've all been around at least a couple of years. AFAIK the Akwasasne is just one poker room (it has two listings), and is in EXTREME Northern NYS. The Seneca ones are a bit closer to population centers -- Niagara is near Buffalo, Salamanca is on the I-86 Southern Tier Corridor, I forget where Irving is.
http://poker.wikia.com/wiki/Casinos:Eastern_US#New_York I wrote up Niagara pretty thoroughly when I went there last year. |

Cana,
You can take a day-trip by bus from New York to Foxwoods in Connecticut, or Atlantic City in New Jersey. It takes about 3 hours each way and costs under $30 round-trip. Some of these include coupons for free lunch and other perks. Bill |

Schedule is way more flexible and AC is only a 2-2.5 hour ride. $31 round trip and you can get around 20 of that back at the casino you get dropped off at. |

I was just at Foxwoods. Yeah... if you are in Manhattan definitely take the bus to AC. The bus depot right near Bally's in AC leaves very frequently so you can stay down in AC for as long as you want.
If you go to Foxwoods... you are stuck leaving according to the bus's schedule back since they don't run up there as frequently. |
