Re: NBA AllStar Competitions
My picks:
Mike miller +650- Career year at great value. Gerald Green -110- Tyrus thomas will not have the crowd or the judges behind him. Dwight howard is too big and big men rarely do well. And Nate robinson shouldn't have won last year and will be hardpressed to repeat. The little man dunking thing was "SOOOO last year" Wade +200- Don't love this one, but he seems to combine the skill, with the speed and the quickness. I can rule out lebron since he is not nearly as quick as the other 3. Bavetta -320- Not taking this one, at least not yet. But it will be fun to watch. |

Re: NBA AllStar Competitions
i agree with the 'little man' argument, however, if he goes out there and nails his first 2 dunks ON THE FIRST TRY, he could get the crowd behind him...
and this may be a bit of a homer pick, but damon jones will win this competition more than once out of 5 times...2 or 3 cavs pregame shows in the last week or two have shown him talking about the 3 point shootout, and how he's been practicing, etc.. if it stays at +500, i'll be on him... probably will stay away from the dunk contest, if only because the guy i think is going to win is getting terrrrrrible odds...c'mon, a negative number?? |

Re: NBA AllStar Competitions
I have a unit on Gerald Green -110 and 1/2 unit on Jason Terry +700. My analysis on Green was the same as primetime32's, and my Jason Terry analysis was:
1. He's done the 3 point shootout before. 2. He had the highest odds at the time. Wish I had got ImNew's prices though. *EDIT: Oh, and 1/2 unit on Barkley +200 -SonnyJay |

Re: NBA AllStar Competitions
Mike Miller at these odds is incredible value. He should be one of the top 2 favorites. The only negative is he hurt his leg about a week ago and his shot has been off a little since. Last game I attended at Memphis I watched Mike in pregame warmups and watched him make 23 3 pointers in a row and 33 out of 34 and he routinely does this. He may choke, his leg may still be bothering him but still this is great value on him.

Re: NBA AllStar Competitions
Alright, gonna stop myself now on these props. Devoted way too much time to thinking about All Star Weekend at this point.
Final scorecard: Gerald Green 1u (-110) Mike Miller .5u (+600) Jason Terry .5u (+700) Charles Barkley .5u (+200) [ QUOTE ] Dwight Howard at +500 now. Any good? [/ QUOTE ] Past Dunk Contest Winners (since 1991): 2006 Nate Robinson, New York 2005 Josh Smith, Atlanta 2004 Fred Jones, Indiana 2003 Jason Richardson, Golden State 2002 Jason Richardson, Golden State 2001 Desmond Mason, Seattle 2000 Vince Carter, Toronto 1997 Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers 1996 Brent Barry, L.A. Clippers 1995 Harold Miner, Miami 1994 Isaiah Rider, Minnesota 1993 Harold Miner, Cleveland 1992 Cedric Ceballos, Phoenix 1991 Dee Brown, Boston All 2s and 3s on the list. I didn't look any further back than that. However, I didn't look at how many times big men were entered in the competition (which is important). I wouldn't bother with Dwight at +500, but who knows. [ QUOTE ] Of my 4 books, I could only get Gerald Green at -120. If the line gets better before the contest, I'll be adding another unit. [/ QUOTE ] Wouldn't count on it at this point. -145 at Bodog, -175 at Greek, and falling on both. GL everyone! -SonnyJay |
