Why has the market given up on 1920x1200 laptops?
Been researching for a few days and am incredibly disappointed at how there is absolutely no choice in the high res laptop market. HP doesn't have one, it seems like Sony doesn't have one. When I walk into a future shop/best buy/sony style, they don't have one.
Basically Dell is the only game in town. Anyone know why is that? I thought we lived in a market economy with healthy competition.... |

Re: Why has the market given up on 1920x1200 laptops?
most people don't want a four-hundred-pound laptop with a screen resolution so high they can't read anything unless it's in 48-pt type.

i think it weighs in just shy of 400lbs. 1920x1200 on a laptop is silly, but to each their own.

NEC was promising a QXGA laptop to come out in Japan a year or two ago, but I don't think it ever happened. Not for any good reason, but I was kind of obsessed with it for a little while.

Re: Why has the market given up on 1920x1200 laptops?
Just a lil update for you all. I ended up buying the 9400 Inspiron with UXGA, and all the bells and whistles. I tried very hard to find good alternatives, but there were none. So Dell gets my business. Holla
