Fold pre-flop
Fold the flop, maybe check-call.
Fold the turn

No low, and you have to dodge of hail of bullets to win even half a pot.

This is why this hand is a terrible starting hand. Unless you are blessed with quad 8s or a straight flush, you never have the nuts. Muck this hand ASAP.

I'm not sure if this is o/8, because I don't think most people who play 3/6 LO8 will be firing with 889T

I know this one guy in the live 3/6 LO8 game I play LOVES middle cards. He says they 'always' hit. I got berated by at least 2 players once when I mucked something like 9TJJ from the EP, saying that it was a 'great' starting hand.

Some people love playing them. Be glad those people exist.

lol, vnh

Honestly, I was just donking around, I'm no O8 player by any stretch... obv I lost money in the session, but I felt this hand was semi-interesting....

Nobody calls preflop, given the decent odds and position? Interesting...

And to think that I was given grief over playing 23's! See the post over PF hands. Even with my "loose" habits, I threw up in my mouth a little bit on reading this hand.

So let's assume you are stuck with this out of the BB. On the turn you are being asked to cold call and may get capped on 3 clean outs, 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and 2 8's. While it is a big pot, low is in play so your high hand is playing for 1/2 the pot. UTG+2 just got aggressive and bet out on you. Facing this question should be a lesson about why you do not want to play this kind of hand in the first place.

I'd like to think I'd fold rather than call cold. If I get sucked along and face 2 cold again when UTG+2 3bets, then it is really time to go. Your outs are few and you are going to get squeezed for multiple bets on the river. RUN!!
