Jam this 77 over 4X raise?
Stars 50+5
My stack :49k Villains stack: 37k Blinds 1k/2k with 100 ante. About 22 players left in a tournament that paid something like 54. I was pretty active leading up to the money but having since entered it had been much more quiet. Villain was like 15/10 and hadn't seen him do anything weird. I am CO holding 77, villain his hijack. Preflop: Folds to villain, villain raises to 8000, hero? Whats your play here? It doesn't seem like a lot of players would go 4X with a bigger pair (QQ+) on the hijack this deep but they might do it with 88-JJ just trying to take it down. If we shove do we have FE over many hands? I'd guess 88+ AQ/AK calls us. |

Without a read: Push
Given your read (I don't use PT but 15/10 means he plays 15% of hands preflop blinds included and 10% of those hands he raises correct?): Fold |

Yes, your read on those stats is correct.

Re: Jam this 77 over 4X raise?
Good catch Ron, yes, he raises 10% of hands. He plays 15%. So when he sees a flop hes raising 10% of the time and calling/limping the other 5.

4x raises on stars tend to be mid pairs that aren't folding, so I fold here unless 4x was his standard.

[/ QUOTE ] One other difference (minor as it may be) is that the 15% is "voluntarily put money into pot pre-flop." This doesn't directly equate to "% of hands seeing flop." If he sees a free flop from the BB this hand will not be reflected in this percent (completing SB will). If he enters the pot with either a limp or raise and subsequently folds before the flop the hand will still be counted. |

Re: Jam this 77 over 4X raise?
I fold. I keep seeing AK or mid pair when players do this (4xBB). He clearly has a tight raising range but unless you have seen him fold after opening to 4x, i think this is a fold.
