Pokerstars uncertain about WSOP this year?
Last year Stars started running WSOP qualifiers in the first week of March. So I noticed the main event was over a month earlier this year, so I shot off an email to support about when the satellites might start running this year....
From: Sent: 2007/02/10 17:04:46 To: support@pokerstars.com Subject: WSOP qualifiers Will you guys be running WSOP qualifiers this year? If so, when do you expect them to start? Thanks for the info. --Mike And the response.... Hello Michael, Thank you for emailing us. Currently, we have not made a decision about our position or involvement in the WSOP. We will keep all our players informed regarding the WSOP from our website and the PokerStars client as soon as that information becomes available. If you have anymore questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us. Regards, Jeffrey PokerStars Support Team |

Re: Pokerstars uncertain about WSOP this year?
If someone in the USA is clever he will not play on the WSOP.
1. The missing business will hurt vegas a litte bit, and perhaps the gaming industry fight more for online gaming 2. The missing tax will show the gouverment that poker is not BAD minimum one event should be banned and in the time a few pros or organization should talk about poker as a game of skill |

[/ QUOTE ] WSOP said no third party entries, whatever that means. They also said they have never allowed third party entries in the past, so maybe they're hinting they will allow online qualifiers. |

Re: Pokerstars uncertain about WSOP this year?
Saw the WSOP schedule recently and there are "2" first days-there were 3 or 4 last year so they definitely expect less. Of note is that there is a break after the 2nd first day which may mean that they're hedging.
