AA hand (
I generally play limit but the other day at my loc. The 5-10nl game was blowing up. There is no cap on the buy in. Over 100k on the table. I wait for my seat in the smaller NL game and proceed to get up 2500 ( g4me ). By the time i got my seat in the bigger game only 60k or so on the table.
I buy in for 800 work it to 1200 and this happens Black AA 5 limpers i make it $150. only BB calls. Flop is 9-10-4r. HE checks... (BB is supposedly a millionaire in his eighties. ive played with him countless hours at limit and he is a calling station at limit...as are most of the NL players in the room). I push approx 1100. He has like 7k in front and insta calls. Thoughts??? |

Re: AA hand (
JQ... he catches on river... you cry.
Am i right? Also, why would these guys play 5-10 with this money? 100 man ring game? |

Re: AA hand (
Pushing 1100$ into a 350$ pot is of course a gross overbet, but if you think he will call with worse hands and draws regardless of pot odds it's fine I guess. I'm sure you know it's not standard?

Re: AA hand (
Not standard I know. Just a wierrd situation to me. Yes I was 95% sure he would call me with worse hands...I pushed "hoping" he would call.
imo the ONLY play was to push here. Please tell me im wrong and why i did not cry... FWIW he did catch and yes he had QJ |

Re: AA hand (
IMO raising to 100 preflop and betting 200 postflop seems better against a standard opponent. But given read, looks like you played it perfect.

Re: AA hand (
Against this player you are willing to go broke, so take the line you think will win you the most. Think he will call more one pair hands on the flop if you bet like 250-300 and push the turn.

Re: AA hand (
Prolly the best option. Bet 300 and push turn make him think twice about folding? The only reason I ever play in this game ever is because of its "neverland" like qualities. I stacked a guy once (this is back when it was still 3-5 blinds) for 1600 and he rebought for 6k...YEs the blinds were $3-5
