Another big/nitty fold
Villain here is check_kills. Seems basically a bad TAG. Runs at 21/12/3 or so.

Re: Another big/nitty fold
I would usually check river since I checked turn, and either c/c or c/r. I can't see what he can have besides KK/88, and a bad tag isn't pushing AK for value right? This line from bad players is always a monster IME, so I like a fold.

Re: Another big/nitty fold
I think some villains shove AK for value here, though I agree this is KK a fair bit. Does 88 really call pf and flop that much?
I think I prefer check flop, bet turn to bet flop, check turn since I think it makes more from marginal pairs etc. |

bet bet bet stack AK [/ QUOTE ] mmhmm. with shorter stacks turn is more often a check, but not so much here. we're just ahead so much, and need to get value/protect. also you should be making bet-bet lines with aces to strengthen your lighter reraised pot bet-bet lines (ace high, for instance) |

Re: Another big/nitty fold
if for some reason he decides to play AK this way (just calling preflop, not raising flop, not betting turn), then yeah, betting turn gets more value from AK. But surely his range is way larger than this, and checking gets value better from his whole range. No?

[/ QUOTE ] i assume you mean it's a poor spot to 2nd barrel with air...doesn't that make it a great spot to bet for value with aa? i think op's line is fine fwiw. |
