I played a SnG today. When we got to heads up, I had $1840 and he had $13160. Still managed to win it.
Anyone that can top that? |

hmmm. seeing how you only had to double up twice to be even, doesn't seem like much of a feat. and i'm sure he wanted to finish you off fast and hence called with worse hands beleiving you would push with anything.

It took 41 hands, so not that fast.
Are you saying that you wouldn't be surprised if someone managed to win over you when you had a 7:1 chip advantage? I'd probably give up poker. |

you would give up poker really really really quickly then. as the other poster said, if you double up twice and then get all in and win, you win. winning 3 hands isnt hard, especially since the big stack will call with weaker hands. one of the first tournaments i ever played the two finalists had 5500 and 5400. the 5400 chip guy had AA vs KK, and the new stacks were 10800 to 100. the guy with 100 won 5 pots in a row when the blinds were at 50/100 and all of a sudden theyre almost even...5 hands later the guy with 100 had won. since then, the chip and the chair statement always rings very true in my mind when in a tournament. and if you quit poker everytime you lost with a 7:1 chip advantage i can personally tell you i would have quit over 10 times. gl!

Twice I have played in live 15-20 person tournaments and seen someone get down to under 500 chips and come back and win it (starting stacks 2000 chips).
I have been down online to under 500 chips a few times and come back to win (8000 chips total). Unfortunately, I have had the same happen to me once. It is really easy to play when you have to go all in pre-flop every hand. wlcmlc |

I won a SnG tournament after being reduced to 15 chips (800) starting. I went allin pretty early like QQ vs AA or something, then won a 6 way pot i think, then won a 3-way, and I was back to 400 chips.

I have won starting down more than this,
and lost starting up more than this. You should win about 1 in 8 starting down 7 to 1. Sabre170 |
