89s vs aa, semi bluff push?
Raise pre with suited connector 89, sb min reraises me i call. i dont have any reads on him and no stats i just sat down this is like 3rd hand. when he raises me on flop i def put him on pocketpair but i couldnt figure if it was over pair or udnerpair. i think his min riases make sense with either of those. i call the min riase with good backdoor draws. i turn a flush and straight draw, he bets 10 into me. at this point i kinda figure he wasnt gonna fold, but i push over him anyways. was this bad?

Re: 89s vs aa, semi bluff push?
Check flop. Call turn. Shove river. You know he has AA/KK here prob and he's not folding so there is no semibluff bc you have no FE. If you hit he will pay you however.

Re: 89s vs aa, semi bluff push?
Check the flop through. Your hand is great at this point, but has some potential, so just take the free card.
Barryc83 I'm not sure why you're giving advice to push the turn. I also think Villian has an overpair. I'm couting a flush draw, open ended straight draw, and any 9 to give Hero the best hand. That's around 17 outs, making him a 34% favorite to win the hand. The pot odds are only around 30%, so it's a definite call at this point. Just call the bet and fold if you don't improve IMO. If a scare card comes which does give you the best hand, Villian is pot commited. You're not pot commited. You know what he has. Call, don't push. Sorry...read you wrong Barry. Thought you said push turn. My bad. |

Re: 89s vs aa, semi bluff push?
The min raise is almost always an overpair, check through the flop, call the turn and stack him on the river. There is no money in trying to get people to fold an overpair, you make way more money by stacking them with the overpair.
