Default 22: Hero an idiot or a genius with this call

Very read dependent hand. Had put villain on about Q-10, specifically when he bet 250 on the turn (extreme weakness). The river check was indeed to induce a bluff. How nuts am I?

Edit: After thinking about it I realize most hands posted are about calling ranges, +/-EV pushes etc. Maybe this will at least get some minds thinking. It may be too situational to answer in a yes/no question

I think it's terrible. Why can he not have Ax of spades and have been on the flush draw?

I'll agree with that statement. Which is why I edited the post. This may be too read dependent and situational.

While I agree that most players at the 22's are donks, it doesn't mean they don't think at all. Almost all of them think (often incorrectly but thinking) to some degree, and thinking along their lines can lead to making correct decisions in tough spots like this.

Now I'm not saying calling here is definitely correct, but that it CAN be. Sure he could have been on the flush draw and is now pushing his "accidentally" rivered top pair, it's possible. Is that more likely than a whiffed draw? That's read-dependant. If HERO puts villain's range at high% bluff calling has to be correct.

You made a good read but why not jam the turn? You are putting yourself in a real tough spot as you will have no idea where you stand when 1/2 the deck are scare cards on the river.

Nice read but be aggressive, don't be fancy/weak with it especially with such a weak holding.

I dont see why its a bad call if you made the proper read?

Since when do you consider the proper read, no matter how redicluous a bad call.

the board could be AKQJ3 and you called down 22 because you had the proper read on him, congrats

Ok maybe I was a bit harsh with terrible, but I'd need a really super ninja read to call here.
