Seems fine to me. I'm assuming by the title of your post that you lost this hand. WTF did UTG+1 have? He sucks if he played a hand that beats you this way.

what did he have a set of 8s or a set of 5s? either way your play was fine and he lost bets by not capping the turn and raising the river.

Right, the hands were: UTG+1 had T9o, BB had Q5o. Yeah I lost it, I just couldn't bring to my mind, that he (UTG+1) had something to beat me since he was very loose, I put him on a flush draw..Also I didn't cap preflop because I thought AJs isn't a strong enough hand to cap preflop, I only do this with AA-QQ and AK.
Thanks for your opinions so far!

cap preflop for value.

Tyler, assuming "average" players, starting with how many players are you 3betting/capping pf? 4?

i'm not sure i understand the question. let me try this:

unless someone scary is showing aggression, or more than one reasonable person is showing aggression, i want to get a lot of money in the pot with AJs.

how's that?

Well, I agree, this is .1/.2 so one can probably assume that most players are bad. Plus, the 3bet is an all-in so that doesn't count.

However, just assuming that this was a "normal" pf-3bet and assuming that the player is (just as we are) decent for the level he's playing at, I don't think AJs is an automatic 3bet/cap against a normal pf-raiser? So I was assuming you were thinking that you might be a slight dog to the 3bettor, but a good favourite against the rest so that making 'em all play max pf makes sense. But that reasoning depends on the number of players in the pot, no?

i can't give you a number because it depends on a lot of stuff. who is the raiser? what are our relative and absolute positions?

it's more about the situation. in the case of the OP, i would advocate capping with a variety of hands (KQs, ATs, JJ).

i think you have the basic idea here:
