Default Making Infused Vodka

I am going to make some infused vodka this weekend. Just curious if people have done it. What vodka did you use? What did you infuse it with? How did you determine when it was done?

Leaning towards whatever fruit is in season and looking good at the co-op, some ginger for sure, maybe one for Bloody Mary's, like garlic/basil.

I've made pepper vodka using Monopolowa and fresh jalapenos. I sliced up 4 fresh jalapenos, poured a little vodka out of the bottle, put the peppers in the bottle, and put the bottle in the freezer for two days. Spicy hot!

I was told by somebody that potato vodka is better for infusing than grain, FWIW.

IIRC, there was a thread discussing this in the old Alcohol forum (mod playground), which would now be in the lounge. I'll see if I can dig it up.

I've heard Jolly Ranchers can be used to infuse vodka. Not sure how long they take to dissolve or how many to use though.

EDIT: 12 Jolly Reanchers, 4-5 hours

Did you get high as you drank it? I've heard that THC can't be extracted in alcohol unless it's in somewhere around a %60 solution. I've also heard using everclear to extract it then using stuff to dilute it and for flavoring is awesome. Still planing on trying it......

Thanks. I did check search before posting and only saw some postings about infusing a watermelon with vodka.

is infused vodka just vodka that you've flavored with something else? Or is there more to it?
