Default Bottom set scary board on Turn $50NL

**looks like I'm having trouble with the converter never us
ed it before anyone know how to fix it??

No real reads on villian just typical 50NL player I guess

Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
5 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is CO with :5d :5s
[color=#cc0000]UTG raises to $1.5</font>, Hero calls, Button calls, 2 folds.

Flop: :7d :5h :8d ($5.25, 3 players)
[color=#cc0000]UTG bets $1.5</font>, [color=#cc0000]Hero raises to $5.5</font>, Button calls, UTG calls.

Turn: :kh ($21.75, 3 players)
UTG checks, [color=#cc0000]Hero bets $8.5</font>, [color=#cc0000]Button raises all-in $63.8</font>, UTG folds, Hero folds.
Uncalled bets: $55.3 returned to Button.

Results:
Final pot: $38.75

I probably should have bet more on the turn. Usually when I lead out small like this on the turn it is to induce a bluff and I am usually planning on calling. This hand though I was really surprised at the push and I really couldnt justify a call.

What are you putting villain on here. They will not have the straight, so are you folding because you think villain has a higher set?

I am weak-tight, but have a hard time folding a set here with all the draws available.

the straight is def a possibility IMO but more than likely a higher set. My figuring was that he wouldnt be pushing here without a made hand due to the fact that I was letting him draw for cheap. I dont usually fold sets but you dont think I am shown a better hand here a lot of the time?

I rule out the straight because the board is 2 suited and a straight would shove after your raise. Another set is a possibility, but they could have a combo of a draw and a pair which is where I am leaning here.

yeah, villain showed a courageous AJdd and I got owned. I knew there was a reason why u should always call with a set, for some reason this just didnt feel right to me at the time. So much for going with my gut instinct it is probably a bad idea to fold a set at 50NL like ever.

The straight really isn't likely at all; it is doubtful that anyone is holding 64 or 96 in a raised pot.

Bet more on the turn, call the all-in. If villain has KK or 77 then so be it, but you're way ahead of his range here.

Since when do people fold 64 and 96 to a raise in 50NL? My thinking on this hand was that if villain had flush draw or combo draw they would raise on the flop and not the turn. Whereas if they had the straight or a higher set they might raise all in on a safe turn. If villain raises me on this flop I am reraising all in every time. Its the fact that he smooth called and then pushed on a safe turn that struck me as odd. Should I not be expecting people at this level to be raising flush draws and combo draws on the flop regularly?

If people are playing 64 and 96 in a raised pot regularly at 50NL then I need to move up because those must be easily crushable games.

I think he shoved the turn because he sensed weakness in your bet, not because he was slow playing top set.

I would bet more on the turn and I don't think I could fold unless I had a monster read villain is squeaky tight.
