I like that first link, but the second one just made me laugh, as that author is far more brainwashed than the person they're talking about.

This guy's problem isn't the fact that Big Government has been unleashed on our private freedoms in the name of terrorism, or that people are being held against their will without trial and tortured, or that Bush has spent money like a drunken sailor, no, this "conservative's" whole problem is ... We are not winning.

If the invasion in Iraq was going great guns, then this guy would be happy to mindlessly spout the party line and string up a gay from the nearest tree. Bush's big blunder not "winning" is his whole problem.

What a stupid conservative turd.

If the war in Iraq was going well, who would have a problem with it.

Isn't the whole reason it is a bad policy because it isn't going well.

I'd have a problem with it even if it were going well. fwiw, I was out in the streets demonstrating against it on the first night of "shock and awe."

Why?

[/ QUOTE ]

-Built on shaky intelligence: UN Chief Weapons Inspector Hans Blix felt that there was not evidence that Iraq had WMDs. Doubt of this magnitude should really be considred before you do something as serious as a war.

-No provokation: the US is now declaring a war of pre-emptive agression, which by the Nuremberg Principles, is the ultimate war crime

-Lack of international support: shouldn't that suggest that something isn't quite right with our policy?

-Disrespect of a nation's sovereignty

-I don't believe that all diplomatic possibilities were exhausted by any stretch of the imagination, making this war even more ridiculous. Moreover, I was extremely skeptical that violence could fix any problem of violence (looks like my skepticism was proper), which goes along with my desire for peace and disdain for war.

That's all the reasons I can remember off the top of my head. Obviously, there are many more reasons now why the war should be stopped.
