PS $5.50- QQ, A on the flop, Opinions??
Hey everybody. I'm not a great player, but I'm working at it. This was a sticky situation for me, and am wondering if I could have avoided the situation, and how others would handle it. I considered pushing PF, but decided against it with 16BBs and 5 players left. Villian was tigher than most at this buy-in, seeing about one third of the flops and not scared to take a stab.

Re: PS $5.50- QQ, A on the flop, Opinions??
Alright, I know this is probably a foolish post. A good argument can be made for raising more preflop. I wound up making a probe bet of t300, and villain pushed so I folded. I was questioning the probe, because it seems I am practically telegraphing I don't have an A. At the same time, a check seems weak and a push is pretty risky. Just looking for feedback, but this isn't a great hand.

Your Preflop Raise size is good here. You do not want to inflate the pot in such a way that a c-bet commits you.
I think you can c-bet this for t600 and still leave enough to get away from it if you are re-raised. A check behind is not bad if villian is tight and does not tend to lead with air, As you will probably have to let go if you do not improve on the turn. |

Preflop is OK.
In this spots, it is hard to know what is best. If you know your opponent can c/r with air then a check is better. At a lower buy-in like here where opponents are usually not very tricky, I like what you did, i.e. a small c-bet (t400-450) if you're raised you can safely fold. |
