Default What to do after college

Hey. I didn't want to post this in The Dorm because I want input from people who have graduated college.

I'm going back for my last semester of college next week and i'm super depressed about it and am reluctant to enter the real world. The winter break has made me realize that I have no idea what I want to do for a career.

I have considered business school and law school, but I will work for at least a year after college before going back to school. What did all of you do the year after you graduated from college? Any regrets? If you could pick any job or career knowing what you know now, what would it be?

Also, if you have any suggestions on how to live life to the fullest during my last semester and the right things to find a good job, that would be cool, too. I have a feeling that a lot of non-poker prodigies are in the same situation I am in. (maybe not)

Econ, I kind of wanted others' experiences rather than specific recommendations, but either is cool.

Don't forget the coming war with iran, global warming, world war 3, the sinking of the west coast, the ebola virus usa prophecies, and the end times. The world is coming to an end so do know that you won't be here more than a decade suffering in the 'real world.'

Hopefully that makes you feel a little better..oh wait..

Dude, take the first job that comes your way.

Whether you love it, hate it or anything in between, the job will give you A TON of perspective that you are lacking now.

If you don't like it find another job BEFORE quitting, or if you like it stay for 1 1/2 - 2 years and then reevaluate. Just stay away from school for at least 1 1/2 years.

While you are working make sure you pick up a healthy hobby like running, golf, lifting etc. This will make working a lot easier.

Dude, no offense, but it makes no sense to go to college for something and have NO IDEA what type of job you can get or want when you get out of school. It cracks me up when you see all these communication/sociology/philosophy/etc. majors graduate and have no idea what they want to do or can't find a job in anything. First find out what you see yourself doing and what you would like to do and see if your bachelors in econ will be enough to get that particular job.
