Default Turned set gets checkraised on river

First session I play against UTG which nick is TexIvey. He has 32/29/1.7 after about 80 hands. My image at the table is TAG, 19/15/3.2

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 handed)

BB ($564)
UTG ($624.50)
Hero ($772.75)
CO ($600)
Button ($946.08)
SB ($755)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $3.
UTG raises to $22, Hero calls $22, 3 folds, BB calls $16.

Flop: ($69) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks.

Turn: ($69) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $51, BB folds, UTG calls $51.

River: ($171) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $112, UTG raises to $462, Hero ?

yuck.

I wish i knew villain better, but i think a fold here is alright. he probably doesnt expect you to fold.

on the other hand, its a pretty good spot for a c/r bluff...

Eww..

With the very passive action of this hand I can't understand why he would check his made straight on the river. Then his large raise of 4x your bet is a bit fishy as well. There's no way he can put you on a huge hand here exlusively so it doesn't look like a value raise to me.

This river is very good for him to bluff, and to be honest with you this to me looks like it could be a spur of the moment desperation bluff.

Hard to say since it's very opponent dependant but I think you're often ahead here 50% of the time against an average aggressive player.

A fold is ok though, but you can without a doubt make a reasoning for calling this.

anyone else think this is a flop bet? Are you that scared of a check raise?

I probably bet the pot on the turn.

I call the river. This is sometimes AK.

I bet the flop, unless we have some specific read/history. No, were not scared of a c/r because it's an easy fold, and it's not like we have many outs to draw to a free car with.

I instacall river.

[EDIT: LOL, free car!]
