3 betting out of position deep
I was in a 25/50 game earlier today when the following hand came up. late position player is about 15K raises to 175 and i'm in SB with KK. i cover. Do i really want to 3 bet here? he's gonna have great implied odds and position on me post flop. What are the pros of 3 betting? the only way i see it positive is building a pot for when i flop a set but that isn't happening that often.

Re: 3 betting out of position deep
Trust me.. if you play the hand properly post-flop the implied odds are still in your favor. I 3-bet to 575 all day long here.

Re: 3 betting out of position deep
You dont have to put all 300bb in ui. You 3 bet to make it easier to play a 200ishbb pot. If you just call, pot is 400 on the flop. You aren't gonna end up with a 10k pot very often where your KK 1 pair is good. If you 3 bet to 600, pot is 1250 on flop, whereby the route to a 5 figure pot is much easier. Key is that you should be 3 betting enough that your kings rate to get paid and that's it is tough for him to put you on a big pair he can then blow off this deep.
