200NL: KK, drawy board with heat.
No real reads on villain at time of this hand. I've played a pot or two against him, he seemed solid. But, that's all I had to go on.

If he had pushed I *might* call but I would fold here, he wants action

Re: 200NL: KK, drawy board with heat.
I played an extremely similar hand today ... I'm in MP with KK and raise 3X, immediate left who I had not tangled with raises to 9X today ... folded to me, I call ... flop is exactly as you wrote, 7TX rainbow, I check, he bets to $10, I check raise to $25 and he pushes for my effective stack of $150 ... I folded after some thought but who knows if it's ever correct .... in my experience, this sequence is Aces
Edit: I guess you have two clubs on your board ... mine was rainbow ... which board are we more fearful of calling? |

So, the more likely your KK is good. If he's playing back at you on drawless boards, he's either making a move or has a big hand. So, I'd rather call on this board than a rainbow board. |

Re: 200NL: KK, drawy board with heat.
vs solid = fold. i dont see anything that you beat taking this line unless its 8c9c or 5c6c, but even then you still may not be winning. my guess is set.

Re: 200NL: KK, drawy board with heat.
hijack question: most of the time i think if you're going to continue with this hand then you should push or fold.
but i think this is one of those strange times when it's better to call flop and push turn even if he's on a draw. |

[/ QUOTE ] For any particular reason? [/ QUOTE ] If I remember correctly. If the stack sizes relative to pot size are large than it's the highest EV for the player ahead in the hand to push on the flop against a draw. Whereas, if the stack sizes relative to the pot are small then it's higher EV for the player ahead to wait for a safe card on the turn and push. |
