Default Is this a bet/fold situation?

UTG just sat down and posted, so he could have anything here...

PokerStars 0.50/1.00 Hold'em (4 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG (poster) checks, 2 folds, Hero checks.

Flop: (2.50 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls.

Turn: (2.25 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls.

River: (4.25 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero quickly posts on 2+2 to find out if he should call or not...

Would check/calling the tiver be better? Check/folding?

I think c/c the river is better. Up until that point, any spade will call. On the river, most of the hands that will call/raise beat you.

Also, I would have considered raising preflop to steal the checking poster's blinds. K2o, while unimpressive, is better than 2 random cards, particularly two that didn't raise.

I'd fold. And c/c may be better just because he isn't calling with much that you're ahead of, and he might bet a busted draw (putting you on a draw).

Easy fold. C/C better. Who is calling with anything you beat here anyway?

I think many loose players will call with a pair lower than K here.
