TWP - is it cuz if he's floating with a PP, say 55-TT here, he called the flop bet planning to call a blank turn?

well, he is a lot more likely to have AA/KK/set/pr+gs that he's not folding for half pot/puts you on air often than he is to have called the flop just to fold the turn for half pot. there really is no reason for him to call the flop just to fold the turn since he has to expect you to push almost every time there. since when do re-raisers just c/f the turn for half pot in this spot ever?

What? AA/KK cold calls behind a raiser AND another cold caller?

Sure. why not? how much had you and the BB been squeezing, etc. i'm just saying this turn bet is most likely fully anticipated (often encouraged) by him, and I doubt he folds often. and you'll have 3 or 6 outs some of the time called, but i think you're drawing dead more often than he's folding. he has played his hand 100% consistently with a set, after all.

Flop bet is insanely gross. It's just another example of a player not thinking about what he will do on the next street.

Terrible flop play did you even consider what stack sizes were going to be and what you wanted to do on the turn? As played you are [censored] I would never fire again.

Hi D,
He called a large pre-flop reraise from you, and he called a large pot bet on the flop. He doesn't have fish stats, and there's no history between you. He's not in here with less than QQ very often, and if he called you this time with TT or something, it's an odd play, but after pre-flop and the flop are called by a solid player, you are not going to be able to bluff him out. I'd expect to look at a set of Jacks or QQ fairly often. It could even be that he had KK, but viewed UTG as super-tight, so he didn't want to play for all the chips. Then when you reraise, it makes sense to let you keep the lead. His pre-flop action is a little strange for a big hand, but don't let that throw you; he is LOADED here way more often than not. In general, you ought to lead here for 1/2 pot or 2/3 pot, and be done with it. |
