Two hands from Full Tilt $24+2 DS
First hand is the very first hand of tourney so obv no reads. 2nd hand the only reason I'm calling preflop is for set value. I think we're deep enough so i get the right implied odds to do that. Oh yea this is pot-limit also.
Thoughts? Re: Two hands from Full Tilt $24+2 DS
Hand#1: On the turn, the hands I find in villains probable range that beat you are AK/AJ/JJ/. And I think villain would have bet the flop with AJ. Anyhow, I don't know if it's right to fold turn.
Hand#2: I don't think you are deep enough to call this raise for setvalue. It is +EV if you stack him every time you hit, but that's optimistic, and sometimes you lose with a set too. So fold preflop. Your turn bet is allright. I'd bet something like t500 on the river. |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't see villain 3-betting me w/ anything I'm beating here, unless he is semibluffing w/ the Kc. Either way if I call his 3-bet I'm pretty much committed to call a river push and that kind of sucks. |

Re: Two hands from Full Tilt $24+2 DS
Hand 1: Good laydown.
Hand 2: I would check the river. While I think QQ, JJ are posible, I would discount them due to no bet on flop. AdXd or TT are also posible. Your bet on the turn looks like it could be a flush draw so I don't think you would get paid off much by hands you beat and otherwise you are getting called or raised by hands that beat you. |

Re: Two hands from Full Tilt $24+2 DS
Hand 2 You guys are giving players early in a $24 game way too much credit. I would definitely value bet the river. The only hand I would be frightened of is KK. He would definitely play it soft. But would he bet 200 pf with KK?? I didn't calculate the size of the pot but I would bet a tad over 1/2 the pot.
Obviously, AACardplayer, you are a player. Please don't played scared. If he does have KK, so be it. Stipe |

Re: Two hands from Full Tilt $24+2 DS
Hand #1: I think this could be a fold as most people 3 betting range is pretty small and I rarely expect to see a worse hand make this move, unless he is really terrible of course. I think AK, AQ and AJ are a strong part of his range, JJ and QKc too.
Hand #2: this is a very easy value bet. |

Do you think opponent would raise 200 BTF and then not bet the flop with a K? Do you think opponent would call with a smaller pair but not TT? It's true that you are ahead of a wide range but the question is weighing what an opponent will call with that you beat vs what he would call/raise with that beat you. |

Re: Two hands from Full Tilt $24+2 DS
Alright let me add alil to the river play om hand #2. I ended up making a value bet of 1/2 the pot, because I thought a weakly played QQ-JJ was def in his range and he might pay me off with those. KK I wasn't to concerned about, since I thought he would've opted to checkraise me on the turn w/ that to build the pot and protect against a possible flushdraw.
I was slightly worried about 1010 or a flush getting there though, such as AdQd, but I think the times he pays me off w/ QQ-JJ outweighs the times he has a hand that beats me. Also, most people would lead this river if they got there because they would be worried I would check behind when a scare card hit the river. So anyhow....
