Clearly, I need help...
I haven't played seriously in quite some time so I'm sure I'm a bit rusty. Didn't think I was this bad though.
Today's session was brutal. Seemed like nothing I could do made a difference. Which of course made me exacerbate the problem with tilt. Fun times. But I guess I should go through the motions and see if maybe some of this was my fault. HELP ME!!! So, here are some of the worst hands: Hand #1, this was probably 1000 hands in or so and I was tilting. This was dumb. I know. Re: Clearly, I need help...
hand 1 fold preflop both times
hand 2 bet more on the flop but fold if he raises hand 3 standard unless villian is a nit and won't push AK/JJ, but I doubt he's overbetting AA here so that makes me more inclined to call hand 4 standard, it's hard to pot control here with the likely draw so I'm not sure I'm getting away from a set/AA here either, but I may be wrong. If he's got the draw you want him calling flop 3-bet because he's not getting the odds to hit on the turn and you're presumably pushing any turn |

Re: Clearly, I need help...
Well your PF raise % should be at least 2x what yours is right now, if my vpip was 21 I would be at least 17% PF raise, but I know a lot of people do fine with slightly less than that.
You don't seem to steal nearly enough, my ATT to steal blinds is closer to 40% and I think most people advocate stealing at least 25% of the time. Your total AF seems pretty low it should probably be at least 3, I think this might be a partial side effect of your 6% PF raise |

Re: Clearly, I need help...
AF being low has to be because of my low PF Raise %. When I'm in a hand I'm trying to take the pot every chance I get.
I guess I should make sure to raise with most hands I'm entering the pot with if it hasn't been raised yet. Always been a weak point of mine. I like to limp and play post-flop. Even though I know I should be more aggressive pre-flop. I'll work on these things tomorrow and hopefully things will improve. |

Re: Clearly, I need help...
You should probably search the forums to find a video of someone playing, I know there have been a few of these posted recently.
Here is 1 I just found: http://hosted.filefront.com/pokerintheface/ it may give you a better idea of how people with a higher PF raise % play. You might want to read this post on blind stealing: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...Number=6073737 And two other good posts you should probably read: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...part=1&vc=1 http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...age=0&vc=1 |

Re: Clearly, I need help...
Hand 1: Huge mistake PF. You can call with KTs, but after a raise You are OOP and You have to fold this trap hand.
Hand 2: Another typical mistake. You are calling an all-in with just TPGK. And ask Yourself a question on Villains flop reraise: What likely holding do You beat there? I have a very hard time to find any likely holding that You beat. Hand 3: This is a little bit read dependend. I like Your reraise on the flop. But after he called it, You have to give him credit for two pair or a set. I would be done with that hand after he called my reraise. The reason for this reraise was to ask a question: " Are You stealing or is Your reraise for real"? You got a clear answer and have to put him on a set. So fold. By the way: Once again You are going all-in with just one pair! This is a huge leak in Your game! |

Re: Clearly, I need help...
hand 2 is OK, although I like squeezing with AQs here. Depends I guess. I don't like the flop minraise, and if I folded it'd be there.
hand 3 3betting flop minraises with overpairs seems to be spewing at 25NL, from what I can tell so far. That turn was pretty crappy but I'm going broke by that point. I like flop shove more than the 3bet you did. I think if flop call is better than shove, probably only marginally so. eigen your advice to fold turn is really gross. Never fold the turn for a half pot bet with an overpair (unless MAYBE the ace of diamonds hits). Your reasoning for 3betting the flop is really bad as well. Your not asking a question, you should be shoving hoping he'll call with draws+some one pair hands, or just calling so that you don't squeeze out the part of his range you beat. |

Re: Clearly, I need help...
1. fold preflop. probably the first time -- if not then, then DEFINITELY the second time. a KTx flop is no good for you when you're up against KK.
2. i'm generally 3betting this preflop. if i bet the flop, i pot it. aside from that, though, i don't hate the way this hand was played. 3. pretty sure you can fold to his push. what do you expect him to have, JJ? 4. nh. i think checking the turn (calling a push) is fine too. |
