Re: simple early QQ hand...too weak or pretty standard
when i was playing exclusively sngs, this was very standard for me. since i switched to ring for a while. and now play both sng and ring on a daily basis (or atleast try to)..it becomes hard to actually do this. in 6max cash games im usually cbetting 3/4pot hu on this flop when im the pfr. but in sngs i think a weak/tight approach early on is better as far as i remember.
i sometimes wonder if folding QQ preflop is okay in early blind levels. i remember when i used to play only sngs it was pretty much frowned upon. most people would suggest just getting all chips in with QQ in first/second/third blind level and not wait for a "better spot". every time i get 4bet preflop though in a sng it is QQ+,AKo,AKs so i dont know about this not folding QQ thing. thoughts? |

Re: simple early QQ hand...too weak or pretty standard
can't see open folding it preflop!...not sure what i'd do with a reraise though...probably call and play poker post flop unless it was a crazy big one...I do agree that 6 max cash really skews how you have to play...in SNGs how you play has a lot to do with what level and staqck situations

Re: simple early QQ hand...too weak or pretty standard
I'm never laying down QQ in $5 SnG. If they show me AA or KK then good for them. If I'm racing with AK then so be it. I've seen JJ-66, AQ-AT, and random crap here often enough to make me happy. Of course if its the last $5 in your account, then maybe you wait for a better spot.
