Default American company opens Online gaming site

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/061204/las_v...over.html?.v=1

Las vegas Sands positions itself, if US Gaming Legalized. Also the possible private deals for Harrah's and Station Casino's is good news.

Can America legalise certain online sites but still makes sites outside of the US to be illegal? Seem fair.

Yeah, America usually has a history of being fair in the past, what gives?

While the site will not accept U.S. customers because of laws against cyber-gambling, the company did not say if it would accept bets from other countries either. It is expected to launch in the second quarter of next year.

Analyst Celeste Mellet Brown of Morgan Stanley sees the agreement as a way for Las Vegas Sands to capitalize on any change in the current ban on U.S. Internet gambling.

Sounds like excellent news to me, they don't do this type of thing unless they see a change happening.

Sure, this is good news for online players!

If you just figured out our beloved USA is built on a solid foundation of hyprocrisy, welcome to the club, glad you could join us.

I'm impressed poker legislation could be the catalyst to make someone want to leave this country for politicial reasons. I knew most Americians don't care or keep up with politics, until the knock arrives at their door....and yet, I never fail to be amazed at someone "discovering" this country is built on gaft, corruption, deceit, and murder.

How else do think the USA got the top of the golbal food chain?
It wasn't by saying "please" and "thank you"

More power to Sands for making the move. I wish them luck, and I think I'll buy some of that stock.

This is interesting because the MGM was forced by Nevada Gaming to close its site a few years back.

What does this have to do with a UK site offering games to the UK?

Not really, the MGM was not allowed to offer a play-for-free version in the US, because Nevada Gaming said that was gambling. (Clearly that strict line for non-Nevada licensees has changed in the dotNet era and Harrah's allowed Party to heavily advertise DotNet right on the 2006 WSOP tables.)

MGM closed its Aldernay (?) site because it could not generate enough non-US traffic. Again, this was years ago.

So, you're wrong ... Nevada Gaming did not force the MGM site closure.

Agreed, I've never heard anything about the gaming commission closing the MGM site.
